What are some excuses to talk to someone?

I have a crush on this guy, but we literally never talk. Not once since around March! I was in his cl last year, and we were pretty good friends but this year he doesn't like me very much, not even in the friend way. Next year, they do homeroom in alphabetical order, I'll be in his cl for sure. That gives me a chance to talk to him, but what can I say? We haven't spoken in so long! Does anyone have any advice, or excuses? Thanks :)
