When testing my amplifier can i jump the amp rem by using a jumper wire from the power 2 the rem?

i don't have a tester and my amplifier isn't turning on. The fuse isn't blown and i don't think my amplifier is either because it didn't shut off while i was using it, just one day it didn't turn on. i checked all the connections but think the rem wire might not be working. So can i jumper it using a lil jumper wire from the hot 12v power to the rem slot just to c if it turns on?
