Does introducing religion to a child do more harm than good?

Religious people often try to justify brainwashing their children with religious nonsense by claiming that it’s important to give children a basis for morality. Whilst I agree that it is important to give children a basis for morality, I strongly disagree with the practice of using mythical nonsense that contradicts reality to achieve this. In trying to do good for their children, religious people cause great harm; irrevocable harm. Their children become scientifically illiterate zombies filled with hate and prejudice. They think praying and talking to the ceiling will solve their problems instead of doing something about them themselves. What do you think?
